in Water bills
I was sent a letter from Inter-Credit, completely out of the blue, claiming that I owed over two thousand pounds to Three Valleys Water and that I should pay up immediately.
I was pretty suspicious about the letter, Im not going to arrange to pay that much money to complete strangers! So firstly I checked out the company via the internet to be sure they were genuine. Inter-Credit's letter gave no details at all regarding the debt's age, I did used to live at the address but I only ever rented a room there for a under a year and as it was a public house all the utility bills was covered buy the pub owners. Some of the pubs staff also lived there and had been for many years, they also didn't pay for utilities.
Inter-Credit informed me when I called them that my name was on the three valleys bill, but were unable to provide dates or proof. I have never set up an account with three valleys or received any bills from them. They also informed me that I needed to prove that I wasn't responsible for this debt. But without any history for this at all I am unable to provide any details. The only thing that links me with renting a room is the council tax that I was paying but have no accounts of this because it was a shared flat this was dealt with by one of the other tenants, the rent was paid in cash to the pub landlord. The pub has now been closed for the past two years and I am very worried how many other bills my name has been put on and why apparently my name is on this one.
Any help on this matter would be great as I don't know what I should be doing next.
Yours Hopefully
Tim Wood.

You could try the 'ask a question feature' on the Three Valleys website, the say they will respond within a few hours. Although this might take longer over the weekend.
