  • Just to let the world know, within 3 days of purchasing a phone from a 3 store I received a call from a company calling themselves TKM purporting to be acting with 3 and asking me if I wanted 24 months insurance for £80, pay now with my credit card.

I started asking questions and was transferred to a "manager". Desperate to get my card details, kept telling me I could do a S75 claim if I wasn't happy. I was googling as he talked, nothing on TKM, he confirmed they had no internet presence!! I said I was interested but required a headed email so I could phone back - it never came.

After the call I noticed their number was withheld, and another google exposed the scam. I've reported to Trading Standards because they appear to be having Court cases in swansea. Might be linked, might be a new set up.

Lets hope the Internet bots get the name TKM mobile phone insurance scam out into the world, assuming they are not called something else tomorrow.
  • I just joined this forum purely to say thanks to rogerMR2.

I also took out a contract with 3, 3 days ago and received the same call. I spoke with an eastern European lady who called herself agnes and as it sounded like a good deal had asked her to call back tomorrow as wanted to check bank etc.

I was confused when I couldn't find TKM on Google this morning, however because of your post I found out in time.

    Many thanks again.
  • my wife was having problems with her direct debits through carphone warehouse O2 account. customer services at O2 transfered her mobile account directly to them (so she is now billed direct from O2). she did not need a new sim or number and still has the same handset, yet within a 24 hours of speaking to O2 she recieved a call offering her cheaper insurance than O2 for her new phone. seeing that i was scammed by e-bell in 2009 and was told by CPW they used the block numbers technique, my wifes case disputes this and i also dispute this as e-bell required only the CV number of my card seeing that they already had my 16 digit number. i question how did they get my wifes number of 9 years unless it was an inside job. i believe that most of the scams revolving around CPW O2 accounts are inside jobs and the scam maybe moving across to other providers having read some of the more recent forums
  • Took out a iPhone contract with CPW Jan 10 and like many others on here received the e bell uk phone call few days later, and dubiously agreed and handed over bank details and paid £105. After reading all these posts many of which were pre jan 10 so would have stopped me from wasting my money i just wondered has anyone had any luck getting any money back??? try ringing the 0844 number and just goes to answer phone :(
