Stamp Duty Threshold Increased to £125,000

So, I calculate that home buying will become affordable for about, erm, 12 people. ;)

I was hoping for more too...this could make a difference to people trying to sell/buy round the 125-130k mark though.

I'm really pleased by the increase as our 1 bed house is up for sale at 115000 and a lot of the smaller 2 beds in our area have been clustered at 119995, making our 1 bed seem expensive. Now hopefully some of them will be clustered at 124995, widening the gap. Yay!

Its good news for me as the offer on my flat was accepted last week at £123k which means I wont be having to pay the stamp duty saving myself £1230!

What an old stingy. He hasn't gone out of his way to make things a little bit easier for those on, or struggling to get on the bottom row of the ladder, has he? Nasty man. :p
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
