Your log-file looks OK to me.
Though I would consider upgrading to Service Pack 3 via Windows Update if I were you. It was released quite a while ago, so you probably have a load of updates to install if you haven't updated since then.0 -
Marty J thanks. No I haven't updated because I thought that was to upgrade to Vista. I have some crafting cd's and some of them won't work if I use Vista. So everytime it says to update I just ignore it. It is the same when I get a pop up box saying HP updates available! I haven't got a Hewlett Packard printer so why does it keep popping up every now and then?0

You are confused! XP SP3 is nothing to do with Vista, so you are ignoring XP security updates.
You need to use the Norton removal tool here. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Hi Espresso
What do you mean remove Norton? When BT changed to NetProtect by McAfee the advisor in India did it for me remotely. She took off the old Norton and replaced it with the new one.
Yes, just started to update and your right of course it is xp service pack 3. I am going to install it now you have made me aware. It is telling me to back my system up, but I don't know how to do this. Have you any ideas folks?0 -

She didn't do it properly then, as you still have some Norton running e.g. LiveUpdate. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
You still have some of it installed (which I failed to spot).
Run the removal tool as Espresso suggests.0 -
