The postie has just shoved a number of things through my letterbox that were recorded delivery. Quite concerned about it - but at least the things arrived. I guess they just can't be !!!!!d waiting for you to come to the door and sign stuff, and probably think they're doing you a favour if you don't have to go to the sorting office if you're not in.

Juat proves my often mentioned whinge that recorded is not worth paying 75p extra for as a seller.

If stuff is delivered without a signature and the online tracking never updates then buyer can still win a paypal chargeback.

I think recorded has had its day, as a seller it has no value at all.

High demand, I'd hate to think who your neighbours would be in a low demand area! :) Although you can get bad neighbours anywhere....

I've also had recorded items just popped through the door, fine for me as it saves a trip to the sorting office, but not so good from the sellers proof of delivery.
Also, yesturday morning OH had ordered a book from play.com, dear postie had forced it through the letterbox so hard that the book had been pushed out of the envelope! So had a mangled envelope and crumpled book on the mat! Thanks Mr Postie!
