It is up to the contractor to determine if their is asbestos in a domestic property.
WITHABIX :T
Can I ask if you know where i might find any regs. that might contain those bits?
I had looked at earlier link, but kept seeing more Commercial stuff than Domesti/Home.
I may be able to get things going by putting them to the broker bloke if sort of 'official'.0 -
CDM Regulations 2007 deal with legal responsibilities of all parties involved in construction work (clients, designers, contractors etc) and what does/doesn't apply for domestic work. http://www.hse.gov.uk/construction/cdm.htm
Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 deal with all things to do with asbestos (funnily enough!!) http://www.hse.gov.uk/asbestos/regulations.htm
You might find the information in the above weblinks heavy going - most people who work in the industry do!!!
I recommend you give a call to your local HSE office - they will give you some free info and/or point you in the right direction.
