So drive to Gatwick-park in a long stay-then coach at worst would be Gatwick to Heathrow -then Heathrow to Southampton. No serious lugging as it's all on the flat and the coaches leave from the same place at Heathrow.
The coach schedules don't change much anyway.
If you have health issues and don't want to worry about steps that would be the easiest way.

Maybe looked at getting a hotel near airport & parking included in the price?

Hi thanks for the replys. getmore4less what is easier is flyingto and from an airport simple! i do not like the idea of having to sort varios travel arrangements out tbh. Have tried with the parking and travel options etc and the holiday being cheaper than some then means whatw e spend on hotel travel etc doesn't benfefit
We have managed to book another one at the weekend for 16 nights gatwick to gatwick so im very happy!!

Id think the train would be a better option for less hassle.You could be half way there by the time youve checked in + been through security.

See that doesn't bother me tbh..our plane is for the cruise so all passengers will be delayed for the ship anyway so not just us! And the ship doensn't leave that day i guess this is why! I trust planes more than trains tbh..especailly at the time of year!!

It is for me too but packing driving to the airport etc and bits too BUT doing that then having to drive so far when we get back is not as much fun!

Sorry, I misinterpreted you, I thought the hassle was getting to + from GATWICK + SOUTHAMPTON so I thought you'd booked flights from your local airport to Gatwick to make your connections.
