A must have software addition for Win Mob phones (imho)
Options
So since installing Spb Mobile Shell 3.0 on my o/h's new touch 3g I have been addicted and have just downloaded another copy for my tytn2!!
Amazing is all I can say. Very customizable. The user interface is great and sooooo fast.
If you have a winmob device I recommend you check it out and try the 15 day trial version to see what you think......
For an alternative, which is free, check out PointUI Home 2
These third parties are working hard making winmob the experience it should be.

I bought Mobile Shell 2 and eventually got to uninstalling it. As good as these programs are, they never seem to do everything I want. I also tried Vito Winterface, Manilla, TouchFlo and Throttle Launcher, but I still didn't really appreciate them
(As always, a good place to try is the xda developer forums. You can find TouchFlo and Manilla there, plus many more.)
That said, Mobile Shell 3 is certainly the best shell so far and with v3 it adds a lot of features it was otherwise lacking (like a half decent calendar), but it still doesn't really beat my today screen with SPB Pocket Plus and a host of feature specific today plugins.
Now if I could disable some of the pages in Mobile Shell and embed today plugins in it, I would be much happier. And if it did everything I would also be happier, but unlike the iPhone, the whole system wasn't designed for finger friendliness.
I therefore found it hard to justify the outlay for the new version (even though it is cheap) when I didn't find it an improvement over my today screen and the Microsoft Facebook app is alarmingly good.*I reserve the right to have an opinion, the right to change this opinion and the right to be wrong.*Hope that helps. download a registry editor and edit away. Look out for MSv3.0.1 - I believe they are addressing some of the issues you mentioned. currently in beta testing
SpbMS3 brings winmob a lot closer to finger friendliness so I'm happy but then again I hate the iphone. Just thought I'd throw it out there for people who were maybe looking for an alternative homescreen or maybe interested in the up and coming win mob phones which beat the operating specs of the iphone hands down but were put off by the current display etc from microsoft.0 -
I agree with HTCWinMob. WinMo OS is a 'mature' one. You can watch live Sky and otherstations in the world with so many softwares. It is the most secure. Pres. that looks a fab app, starting to get more customiseable which is brilliant. The one thing I have missed since I moved from my SE P900 to WinMobile was my own personally made interface.
Have you ever found a decent hand writing recognition app? The inbuilt windows one is rubbish.:hello: TTC since 11/090 -
UKJubilee: I'm used to TouchPal, that I could not remember WinMo has any handwriting features on it. Check it out.:jDON'T STEAL!!! Government HATES competition!:D Pay your tax and make voluntary contributions to the government! :A:T0
