    The software included is a big consideration. Some drives come with basically useless backup solutions, some will come with a "Lite" version of acronis true image or norton ghost. Both are very much worth paying a few more quid for.

    Freecom 1TB drives are good for this kind of thing and so cheap its just worth doing.

    Some of them also have cool software installed or that is usable which helps assist you in automating backups and copying your files across! Definatley go with something like this if you can!
