livinginhope wrote:Hi Dotty, what are your debts?are they loans and credit cards?if so you have to pay all the other bills before these,if you can't make the payments on your debts, you should talk to payplan or national debtline, they really can help and its amazing how much better you will feel when someone else takes your debts and sorts them for you.
To be honest we were in a worse state last year, however got some back-paid tax credits and paid big chinks off a few debts, like i had 4 catalogue accounts last year, paid off 3 now only have 1.
I have 5 x CC, 2 x Loans (one paid this August) plus other bills that i never save for like phone etc..........
Need to get seriously organised???Focusing on clearing the credit cards in 2018 :T0 -
dottyanne wrote:Thank you SOOOO much, i am going to go through all my debts and try to sort out payments arrangements TODAY. what do i do about OH CC payments that are late though - presumably they wont talk to me and i dont really want to tell him??
If you have the £££ you can just send them an extra payment, but otherwise you should tell your OH. It will be easier to do now than when you have missed more payments, say, 6 months down the line!!
It's not easy, but at the end of the day I am sure he will understand. If the cards are just in his name, as opposed to joint cards, then they will only talk to him. Is he aware of your financial situation as it is (sorry, havent read the whole thread!!).

hi again dotty-anne
What I dont understand is why you have to carry the burden of all this stress on your own? Surely your oh should be paying his own CC payments, or at least showing an interest in them. Maybe he shows no interest cos he thinks its all under control? I have debts and the flats "mine" and OH lives with me, once hes realised the pressure IM under he is fully behind me collecting coppers for paying off my credit card and trying to get a better job in order to pay me more rent/board etc.
Have you thought about getting another job? If you can fit your business around it, then getting another job ( even if its temping just for a week or two,) its hard, instant cash that WILL appear in your bank account and WILL make a big difference.
HTH and best of luck xx:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

To be honest, I am sure that if they want the payment badly enough they will accept it!!
I've had a quick read of the thread - have you posted a SOA? Including your income, outgoings, ALL of your debts/arrears? I think this would be beneficial!! We are all here to help, and this tends to give us a bit more to go on. You might be able to save £££ without realising it.! xx0 -
hi ms_london, i did post an SOA, however its a little mixed up - like me - after picked the kids from school im getting my head stuck in and listing all debts - outgoings etc - might take forever but i promise will post it here later!!
Thanks, xxFocusing on clearing the credit cards in 2018 :T0 -

It takes a while to get your paperwork sorted & then, if you are like me, are likely to miss the most obvious of things off!! :0)
Look forward to it. Had better get on with some work now, ooops!!

Hi been plodding on for the last 2 hours and now my bits of paper look tidier, i have a cracking headache and am still no clearer!!
Wrote a letter to Council re - outstanding business rates on shop (self employed) of £538.00 for 2005/06 to see if they will add them onto this years bill so as to spread the cost? doesnt hurt to ask does it?
Phoned Powergen, they are still taking £120 this month (but dont think it will be in my account as im skint) then they will reduce it to £93 per month ( not a huge acheivement but a saving none the less)
The only way i can set it out is as follows
Personal Monthly DD's
Personal Monthly Bills (including those with arrears)
Business Monthly DD's
Business Bills (including those with arrears)
Will this be ok so someone can please help me???

That will be fine.
Also put on food, and other things you have to pay for as well.
Well done for getting all the paperwork together, and for speaking to Powergen. That will leave you £27 a month better off so it's good news.
It's all baby steps to start with, but you will make progress.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j
