The issue is surely the capability of the ATM. I could go into an RBS account and change the daily withdrawal limit to whatever I wanted but I'm not sure it would be practical.0

Seriously you shouldn't walk around with that much cash on you as you are asking to be mugged. People with legitimate businesses will not have a problem with supplying you with their bank account details so you can pay money directly into their account.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

If you hand over cash you can get a receipt on the spot, whereas you don't easily have proof that a bank transfer has successfully made it0 -

I believe Barclays Platinum is also £750 (been a while since I've cared to be honest as rarely use ATM's!).
