Night all!
In a very good way! Everyone needs a bit of light entertainment and those car mats will keep us all going for months to come :rotfl:
Clearly I have been too absorbed in this thread and pretending to listen to what OH was talking about to see the 'debt nerd club' thread
Off to have a look now!

Here, here! Without reading these posts I would be thoroughly miserable. I have learnt that being cautious with money can be fun!! God knows I am obsessed with this site, get withdrawal if I don't drop in for a daily visit.
Thank you all so much - SS, Kathfisch and Moozie, you are particularly inspirational.
Only wish I had found the site years ago!!"I will be debtfree":p0 -
Chortle wrote:I have no intention of clearing off once I become debt-free, it'll help me stay on the straight and narrow if nothing else! In fact I was thinking of offering my services as a volunteer to the CAB, to help other people facing up to their debts - I'll wait until I've sorted myself out first though

Hey Chortle. Funny you should mention that as I registered my details with the CAB for some voluntary work earlier this week. Its a shame it takes a month for them to get back to you, otherwise I would happily start straight away!! I want to help as many people as I can & pass them onto this site :0)0 -
I lurve you guys too!! It kept me going when I had had enough of being in debt - and now I like (attempting) to help those that are in a similiar situation!! It definately makes you feel as though you are not alone, which goes a long way!!
Lots of love ;0)

This is a nice thread.

I don't often post up here as I never really feel as if I have anything to offer, but I do read most days. It's heartening to see so many peeps getting control of their stuff rather than it being the other way around.
It's also heartening to see so many people encouraging others.
You should all give yourselves a pat on the back.
I wish you all well.
(Ps......had you thought of getting a mortgage pig?

Hello warm and fuzzies

I always enjoy walking in on your chats too - so off to look for the debt nerd thread in a moment (hmm, I may have warned you to hide now...)
Thanks for the thanks thread SS and I'm sorry you don't get sent presents. I have some tomatoes I could send you...? :rotfl:
Kath - as I recall the mistake you make was popping into Tesco and buying a sandwich when you could have bought all the things to make sandwiches and then you would also have had something to do on the train!Do I Need One Stops All Unnecessary Reckless Spending£2 CSC - £30 :kisses3:0 -
I've only been here since Monday and the friendliness, support and guidance is outstanding. I never thought I'd be able to share my debt with anyone, ever, and here I am with it written everytime I post!
It's turned the embarrasment, shame, miserableness I felt inside me, into enjoying bargain hunting, finding new targets and smashing them (ie. weekly shop, house bills) and the encouragement given here is amazing.
Thanks to everyone who contributes - those contributions are significantly changing my financial life and outlook.Back on the DFW Wagon:

You are right Palescene, what a good memory! Can just see me sitting on crowded train making sandwhiches :rotfl:
Aah well, gives me something to talk about
But I think I'll give it a rest now, have got it out of my system! :rotfl:Don't stress, relax, let life roll off your backs. Except for death and paying taxes, everything in life is only for now... Avenue QOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 003
