i'm aware of the trick to reset the date of one's mobile in order reset the 300 free text allowance, but can anyone confirm this still works??

if so, i understand one has not to...'make a connection with anyone with your mobile but leave turned on', does this mean that if you recieve a call that day on your mobile, the trick won't work??

and presumably there is no minimum balance required in order for this to work (if it still does)??

Ooooh, tell me this trick - son has the online 300 free text PAYG sim and they said his allowance wouldn't kick in again till 25/12/04 - that's no good for him (or me!), my land line bill will be astronomical if he can't text everyone. We topped up with the required £10 earlier today.

Thanks for that Monomer - he has used the phone (naturally!) since it was topped up so I can't get him to try is this month, but I shall save the info for him for next time - shan't get too excited, though, it DOES sound too good to be true!
