Cancelling my Orange contract

Help!! Im going travelling to Oz for the next 12 or so months and need to cancel my orange contract.Unfortunatly Im only in month 6 and customer service could only offer a 6 month break or to sign the contract over to someone else. Neither of these are viable but surely somehow I can get out of the contract legally and without paying a fortune seeing as Im leaving the country!!! Anyone got any ideas?
