Thanks for the info, im going to give Chrome abit of a run out and see how it goes! Do you think its faster than the others in your experience?0 -
It's certainly quicker than either Internet Explorer or Firefox, though I've never even tried Opera or Safari.
In my humble opinion, Chrome is what IE should have been in the first place: a simple, quick and easy browser. Virtually none of the other stuff that comes with Windows has any extra features - why should the browser be any different?0 -

Ever since you saw it was slower than Safari?
Safari 4 is crazy fast, as TangleFoot's link shows. Some benchmarks show Chrome out in front by a bit; I'd say it was a tie.
Oddly, the two most popular browsers, IE and Firefox, appear to be the slowest. Go figure.0 -

I could forgive them for pushing Safari on people; alternative browsers are a good thing, especially when the god awful IE is still (barely) dominant. Everyone should try them all out.
Pushing iTunes is a bit much though.0 -
The first time you downloaded it, you may have had the beta version (still in testing stages). When you upgraded via Windows Update you got the final version of IE8.
However, that is good advice for people like MrsBish who are experiencing some issues with IE8 – upgrading via Windows Update to ensure you have the final version, or trying a reinstall has also helped many people. Also you can try running compatibility Mode (broken page icon next to refresh button on toolbar) or you could also try managing your add-ons. In IE go to ‘tools’ and ‘manage add-ons’ then disable/enable. Disabling any unnecessary add-ons may help you Internet run faster.0 -
I understand that you just uninstall it from the add/remove programs and it reverts to IE7.
Not on Vista though apparently.
To my customers, im currently recommending using Firefox or Google Chrome until Microsoft fixes the issue.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Ok ive given Chrome a go over the last week and agree that its pretty quick but apart from that i dont find anything very special about it. It has a long way to goto catch up with FireFox's customizability for me, or maybe im just stubborn?0 -
Depends which extensions you use. I particularly like AdBlock Plus and WOT, but I can live without them for a while. In the meantime I have some bookmarklets to keep me company.stevieg123 wrote: »maybe im just stubborn?
- Real AdBlock for Chrome (strips ads from pages after they've loaded, alas)
- BugMeNot Bookmarklet
- WOT bookmarklet for Safari and Opera
