Also a bit p*ssed off that the accounts were sold to the Spanish whilst every other failure has been kept British owned.
There's just no pleasing some people. You're upset that Santander won't !!!! money up the wall for some brand which belongs to an institution which went bust? How does that make any sense? It's not like the B&B brand makes any sense any more anyway: all the Santander-B&B business does is retail deposits, which don't really make any money in and of themselves, do they?
Oh, and the only other case I can think of of a massive move of deposits to another institution was the Heritable Bank and Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander transfers to ING Group. You know, as in Internationale Nederlanden Groep.
Don't forget that savings balances are liabilities, not assets.0 -

I never said that.
All of the high street banks have their poor performers and their good performers, just like any other business - service is, unfortunately, inconsistent. There's horror stories and praise for every one of us, so why would I try to elevate Barclays above HSBC, Natwest, Lloyds, etc.?
Abbey, however, is just like pissing in an ocean of piss. What would William Shatner do?0 -
