Anyone doing any passbook transactions in the Greenock branch is being given a shiny red replacement passbook with Abbey on it,cashcards are being replaced from next month. At the time of the takeover,it was said that this branch would continue on its own for a good while yet.Its not like Abbey to tell lies.
I have a deep burning indifference

What is Scotts problem? So what if the passbook is a different colour. B&B was always going to vanish at some point. This thread is a total joke.0

I suspect that very soon they will also be replaced with yet another red book with Santander on it.0 -

It was measured in years at the time, even last week the branch said it was said to be keeping it,s B+B identity,i,ve not closed any accounts yet in loyalty to the staff but knew it would come one day.
ps Simon it has nothing to do with the book,B+B customers should have been given the option if they wanted their accounts moved to Abbey or closed.(might have saved a lot of paper getting wasted)I have a deep burning indifference0 -

The accounts are already with Abbey, as the government sold all B&B savings accounts to Abbey when it was nationalised. B&B is nothing more than a trading name for Abbey, no matter it says on the cover of the passbook.0 -

Didn't you know? He's a Knights Templar for Grupo Santander; he's just not honest about it.What would William Shatner do?0 -
Shame that B&B will soon lose its identity, as I have found the customer service quite good in the local branch, in total contrast to the absymal service from Abbey and Alliance & Leicester. I still have a few fixed rate accounts with B&B and will just have to move each account as and when it matures.0

Yeah, thats roughly what i,m thinking as well, sad to see it go but also annoyed that Santander are not going to run it as a stand alone business.
Also a bit p*ssed off that the accounts were sold to the Spanish whilst every other failure has been kept British owned.
