Best card to apply to after sub-prime

in Credit cards
I currently have a 5 late payment marker in the last 12mths and some '3's for one settled account 18mths ago. I have some other adverse but this is due to drop off in November and December this year.
I have (or will have, when received in post) 3 sub-prime cards which I am going to use to rebuild my credit history. Capital One, Vanquis and Aqua.
Hopefully I'll be getting lots of green 0's to join the others I have from my current account, O2 account and some other older ones.
I was thinking about whether I can try for a mainstream card in December, or would I be better off waiting the full 12mths? What card would be best to try?
I am with Barclays and have been banking with them for about 12 years (no adverse).

I have seen it reported that Flybe offer card that has been accepted by many who have previously operated sub-prime accounts.
In addition, MBNA offer one that requires a £100 deposit. But seeing as there is currently a thread where MBNA appear to be trying to get out of returning the £100 deposit, be careful with this one.0 -
Thanks Nick.
Anyone else got any recommendations?0 -

HSBC only accept current account holders for their cards and I have a Barclays account.
Has anyone else been through the 'clearing up your credit report thing' and come out the other side with a mainstream card?
Also I had an account with Virgin which I only closed in November but that shows as a few missed payments, just 1's though, so not sure whether they'd give me another card just yet.0 -

I had a Virgin card but the interest rates were ridiculous so my OH allowed me to transfer the balance to his 0% card and I closed the account. I had missed/late payments with them but only a few and only 1's. I closed it in November, wish I'd kept it open now, but not sure they would have resumed my credit limit because of my history anyway.0 -
Experian only have one late/missed payment for Virgin/MBNA whereas Equifax has 3...They are staggered though, not close together
Though overall I think my Experian looks better than Equifax as the latter have some old stuff from my very first address on there still
What about Barclaycard?0 -

Thanks Claire, do you mind me asking what your adverse was before getting the sub-prime and how long it took for your file to recover? Did you leave it a year?0
