£4.32 at the moment - was a bit more - but I needed a loaf of bread, 2 pints of milk and a pack of kitkats (well didn't really need the kitkats).
I don't tend to spend on the debit card so often now - a while ago it was what I used most - but what I found was that my bread, milk and kitkats could cost me any where between £10 & £20 instead of the £2.86 they cost this morning. It depended on the "bargains" or things I discovered I "needed" on the way round the shop.
And I don't have a memory problem like LIR, except for spending on cards of any variety.
I know, I know, a bit more self discipline or will power would be beneficial.0 -

How much cash do you have in your wallet/purse/handbag/pocket right now?
Exactly, to the last penny.
AU$1.85 - enough for a cuppa.
Will probably get 50 bucks out tomorrow which will last a week or 2 depending on whether or not I go to the pub.0 -
£7.83 which includes a Scottish fiver;) lol
I use a debit card for anything over a fiver and then cashback credit card for internet etc.
don't like having huge wads of cash on me and a small amount means i can pay for a trolley at supermarket etc. Also like the idea if something happened to my mobile i would be able to use a pay phone although they seem to be a bit thin on the ground these days:rolleyes:
p.s Jonnybravo when I was in Newcastle the lloyds atm there gives you fivers! Thought it was amazing. I think all banks should do this!Spreading the gospel that is Martin Lewis to the future generation....I'm a Home Economics Teacher and being thrifty is the way!:A0 -

I honestly think I would get a bit befuddled if I tried to use a payphone....I can't even remember the last time I used one.0 -
I remember another time when I had a random EUR 20 note in my wallet. I'd just got off a plane in Tampa, and I didn't have any $$ cash.
I needed some thing to tip the guy who carries your bag to the car rental desk (even though you don't want him to), so I gave him the 20 Euros, and said, "don't worry mate, that'll be worth more than $20 soon"
It was October 2001, and probably within 6 months I was right :T'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0
