in Credit cards
Unsure of my place here but here goes
I wanted to check my credit score, but when I look at the free trials, they only say credit report, I already have access to this. So any idea if I can get a free credit score? I know there is that one that can give an estimate for free but hoping for more accuracy then that.
(oh and does checking harm your score?)

Sorry to tell you that you have to pay for a credit score but take my advise and don't bother. It is really irrelevant as most companiess have their own method of credit scoring and the ones that you pay for are a waste of money. This is of course my own opinion but if you hunt through the many posts here you may find it is the opinion of many.0

credit 'scores' are pointless. It's just a CRA's opinion and lenders don't use it / never know what they are. You're file's more important. Never heard of a free way to get them though (to answer your question), it's always a way for the CRA to make a couple of £s for nowtOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 784 - Proud to be dealing with my debts0

AH! great info guys thanks! Never knew or thought of that.
Question, my report details a 1 as the worst in the past 12 months, how do I see more then that? Its through cpp with experian. It mentions holding older data, but not where on the reportThe will to save every money saving penny we can0 -

If this is a credit card account, status code 1 means payments are up to one month late. The last 12 months of payment history is shown in full, most recent data first.
Below the codes is a summary of payments over the last 36 months (or since the card account was opened, if this was less than 3 years ago)
For instance, the number of status 1-2 indicates how many times payments have been late by up to 2 months over the most recent 36 months.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -

Some data, (eg. a credit card that's closed down and marked "settled") stays on your file for six years, but not the payment history. Only the most recent status codes are shownPeople who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -

P.S. So, if you want a late payment or two to disappear from view in the shortest time possible, keep the account open and activePeople who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -

But it will still show the worst situation the account was in, so if you had a credit card that had an arrangement to pay on 5.5 years ago but then had been paying on time etc for the past 4 years. You would have 3 years of 'green ok' under each month but at the bottom it would say 'worst status arrangement to pay' this will not drop off until the 6 years is up.0 -
