Halifax Student Account. Did you get the full £3,000 overdraft

I was given £1000.00 initially, while on a field trip I became £1.14 overdrawn, not only did they charge me a whopping £30.00 I had to go into a branch and fight to have my overdraft extended by only another £50.00 to stop this from happening again.
I was told that the £3000.00 overdraft was only for longstanding customers and was based on my credit record...I have been a customer with the halifax since I was 7 years old!! And this was the first black mark on my credit rating....I have since left the Halifax!
