:T - If you're a betting woman, maybe a bookie might take odds on it :rotfl:.

To the OP, it took about a month from the date of application to receiving both the card and pin. Bloody torturous i tell ya!

I thought I explained all this only the other night lol.

Ok, Vanquis unlike any other bank do work differently in that over 90% of accounts are manually opened. They work like this:

Instant Acceptance - good credit score/no adverse etc
Instant Decline - fraud/cifas/not on electoral roll
Referred - Everything else - defaults/missed payments - anything excluding the above

When you get referred this means your account will be dealt with by a person and will result in them checking you out doing a credit check and scanning it properly, looking for patterns of problems and you either pass or fail.

If you fail generally it will be a decline and sorry, try again in 6mths. After 6mth you'll usually get accepted unless you have fraud or really bad debt.

If its a refer-accept then this means you may have been agreed subject to final checks which will be to check you exists thus they want to speak to you and confirm you are who you say you are (no fraud) and to sell you PPI and take cash out!

This call could take a few weeks as a team of less than 100 work on these all day and the volume of applications is huge for obvious reasons. Therefore you get dealt with when they get round to you. For example, you ring them up and they will say no decision has been made means that it is in this queue and the decision will already have been made or will be made shortly.

Thats it - takes a while but it's purely cos they are backlogged! Nothing sinister or bad. Pointless ringing as they won't say much.

Hope that helps - yes, I know someone who works at Vanquis in Bradford. Small world, have been on phone to him for last half hour!

I'm trying to get him to join here lol

Read some of my posts, you'll see I generally know some weird stuff but lack the basic knowledge like the best loan or best bank lol
