texts taking long time

Has anyone any idea why some of my texts take ages to reach my friend...

I send about 20 texts a day to a friend. Some reach her phone instantly but some can take up to an hour and sometimes even longer.

This has been happening ever since she changed phone a few weeks ago, she now has an LG (dont know model) and is with Orange.

It cant be my phone as all my texts to others are instant.

She contacted Orange and they said it was nothing to do with her.

Its so frustrating!!
Any ideas please?

If the signal on her handset fluctuates at the time you are sending the text, the mast will not find her to forward it on to. Therefore the network tries a certain times:
Immediatley
2 minutes
6 minutes
15 minutes
30 and 60 minutes
Then hourly until the validation time you have set on your text setting comes to an end.
If she has low coverage in the area she's at, she may benefit from popping the battery out for 30 seconds and back in, as this unlocks you from one mast to another, and allows unsent texts, voicemails, etc to be sent straight to the handset.
