Last week I received my £20 specs from goggles4u and as usual I am very pleased with them. Have been wearing them for a few days and so far no adjustment is needed anywhere at all.
Can highly recommend them.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Wow this is a really good offer, i've just paid over £100 for a pair of glasses and sunglasses from Boots. I have really weird eyes so can't get them from places like this, such a shame, hate forking out for specs! Think happy & you'll be happy

Further to my previous comment, I have now found out GlassesDirect supply Kodak 1.76 lenses for £135, the undercuts all high street quotes I received. Specsavers will not tell me what lenses they use (but will charge £250), nor will D&A. One regional opticians firm said Zeiss, and want over £400.
I think I can safely assume Kodak lenses are a decent quality.0 -
Well i'm still not happy with the service i have received from there. Sent a couple of emails and had no reply apart from the auto emails telling me my glasses are being processed.
Even if they turn up and are ok i will still not use them again.0 -
Not sure if many people r still reading this thread but if u r.... I ordered 2 pairs from SelectSpecs on 20th May but still havn't rec'd them. I am getting the regular twice a week updates saying that they have been sent for glazing. Mine was a very simple single lens prescription so cannot really understand why they have taken this long... 20 days so far.. well over the 10 working days as was quoted. I do appreciate they may have had a lot more orders just from the MSEMail. If u r reading this can u please post an update to say if u r experiencing the same problem.0

I think the reason they may be taking so long is as quoted in the original postMSE_Archna wrote: »Warning. Its worth remembering this is a small company, and the MSE weekly e-mail goes to 3.3m people so its possible that it will be overwhelmed by the reponse from the weekly email. slowing things down. Bear this in mind when ordering.
If people look at the thread they will see it has been viewed over 87,000 times. Perhaps all us MSE's have taken them by surprise.
My mom received hers today (ordered 21st I think) and is delighted with them :T:T - so much so she'll be ordering another pair. I ordered mine a week later so fingers crossed they will arrive next week. At this price I'm not going to complain if they take a month to come.
(For anyone eagerly awaiting theirs I think Mom's turned up 1 week after she had a 'dispatched' email).A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
I think ive had about six 'glazing' emails for two pairs of simple glasses.0

Rimless/
1x Photochromic treatment/ 25.00 25.00

1x Scratch resistant treatment
recived email saying on the 30th May order sent out, after 7 days was getting worried as i thought been in Kent they should of come by now, i emailed them and they said sometimes it takes up to 20 days, which still seems a long time, but anyway Monday morning they arrive 8 days later :-)
very pleased with them so far, one other thing they arrived from Hong Kong sent as a gift and value $10 its looks, so maybe thats why they take so long, i did not have a tracking number and thought they where coming from Kent
hope this helps0 -
I've been reading around t'internet and there's a few reviews out there reporting from people who sent money but got nothing back.
My order was placed May 23rd and now I see the regular 'Order Progress' emails have stopped about a week ago.
I'm beginning to smell a scam in progress here.
I too, believed it was a UK company, not that I've got a problem with Hong Kong, many of the CD suppliers ship out of there.
As the expression goes . . . "if something seems too good to be true, it usually is"
The bankers stole my pension (and everyone else's). It should have earned a lot of money, but they took their bonus pot first.0
