    Hi DDonut-

They can't do over -10/+10 as it constitutes a 'complex' prescription and has to be fitted by a qualified dispensing optician/optometrist.

I ordered these glasses last time around and was very impressed.

The glasses arrived from Hong Kong and the frames are very light plastic (not a bad thing IMO) but they really do have anti-glare. It recently cost me £140 extra to have anti-glare on my glasses on the high street so this is a phenomenal deal :D
  • I bought a pair of single vision glasses from this site and although i had a delay on my order of an extra week or so they are brilliant value for money. I have been trying to save for nearly a year for a new pair of glasses and i paid the sum total of £8.50 for the ones i have now!!! I have been struggling to read for nearly a year simply because i couldn't afford my new glasses, i would definitely advise people to give selectspecs a try.

Add my name to the satisfied customer list!
I bought some of their specs on the last offer (my eyesight is just deteriorating with age so its a sort of upgrade from 'ready-readers' which have been fine for me up 'til now) they arrived much more promptly than I expected and came with a cheap but effective case (and a decent cleaning cloth).
I must say I was impressed, so I ordered some more and bought some of their more expensive glasses too. I'm very satisfied with the glasses and the delivery the second time around too, I don't see how you can go wrong at the price if you want the convenience of a couple of extra pairs to leave round the house.:T
  • Have a look at zenni.com

I bought some designer glasses from GlassesDirect last year. All very well except they were a bit lob sided on my face. You would at least think they would make sure the frame was straight before sending them out. Least with a highstreet optician you can go back to get them adjusted.
  • Thanks for this post. I have a habit of losing my glasses when I've had a beer so these cheap pairs will come in handy.

I took some specs that were bought online into Boots for some adjusting and when I asked how much they would charge they said nothing and they done them for free.
    Worth a try?

    Hi LeeUK,

I'm the UE Manager at Glasses Direct. I'm really sorry you had that problem with glasses from us. All our glasses are QC checked before they head out so that shouldn't really happen. When did you buy them last year? Did you manage to sort them in the end?

If you're not happy with them, you always have 14 days to return/exchange them, or alternatively we'll always try and resolve any issues. I'd be happy to get one of our opticians to give you a call and talk through what you can do if it's still a problem.

Happy to talk on private message if you want.
