It's a 4 year Grad medicine course.
Funding details here for Nottingham grad medicine course, all the others in England should be the same.

Hi
My daughter is starting at a performing arts college in London to do a degree course in a couple of weeks. The course does not have accreditation and therefore she does not qualify for student finance and in turn cannot apply for a maintenance grant. We are a normal family without an abundance of riches and i cannot seem to find any organisation that we can ask for help. I can afford to see her through her first year, but after that she may have to pull out. Is there any advice anyone can give us where we may able to get some form of help please.

I don't know about other funding but be careful that if she does pull out and tries to get funding for a new course elsewhere then the previous study is taken into account whether it was paid by herself or not. So funding is years of new course plus one minus years of previous study.
Can you not find a PA degree that would attract funding. Seems a bit of a waste to fund yourself or is the course very specialised.0 -
Thanks for the reply. The college/university she is going to are trying to get accreditation for next year and i have been told that if this happens we can claim back for what we didn't get for year one. If she does have to pull out, the college/university has said that they will give her a reference and as much help as possible to try to find another study outlet.
The vogue in performing arts is that all of the students that we are in contact with, desperately want to be in one of the prestigious college/universities and most of them are in London.
Thanks anyway0 -
If you haven't already, it is worth asking the college what current students are doing wrt finance, do they know of any grants etc available. But competition for anything there is will be cutthroat.Signature removed for peace of mind0

Hi, I earned £18k last year and paid £526 to slc. Even though I only earned about £270 over the threshold on plan 1 they have told me I can't have a rebate as the payments are based on my monthly salary not the whole year (I started work in July). Is this correct?0

Hi
I'm a post graduate student( 58 years old) I started the course late so with the tutors agreement only completed 3 of the 4 modules in the first year but was charged for 4 modules?
In year 2 due to ill health I only completed 1 module. I provided medical evidence. For 1 module I have been charged 50 % of the year cost . I have now been advised that to complete 2 futher modules in order to gain a post grad diploma I need to pay a further £1500 approx . I have paid £5000 so far £3112 for year one the remainder for year 2. This does not seem right or in other words a total rip off?0 -
