I have sent 2 declaration forms back by first class post and 1 by special delivery on monday which they have signed for.But on my online account it is still saying missing student signature. How long does it take to update my account as i am getting sick of sending the forms?thank you

It can take a while, but can I suggest you phone them. Last year as a parent I kept sending in my council tax form, but instead of telling me there was a problem with it ( it didn't say single parent) they just kept sending me requests for more. It was only because I phoned up that I found out, I just kept thinknig they'd lost them.

It depends whether they need any more information etc, but they give you a rough idea of the loan when you fill it in, and then the grant amount follows when the parent has sent off their info. I had issues last year ( purely to do with proving single parent status) but if it's all straightforward it should be a couple of weeks.

Thank you minty money saver - off to hunt out the P60 :)
  • No problem, but make sure it's the P60 from LAST year, so 2011-12. They work a year behind for some reason...

If you complete the parents forms when you do the childs application, they give the figures straight away. You then get written confirmation within the week, that needs to be signed and sent back

It is because many people don't get their current P60s until May which makes it late for student finance. They did used to use the current one and that was back when people were left waiting for months for student finance to come through.
  • I have used my gift year previously and then took a year out and started a new course at a new uni. The new course is four years long including the foundation year which I am currently doing. In this period, I have gotten conditional offers from other universities of higher repute to continue from the foundation onto year 1 of my chosen engineering degree (provided I attain 65% averages etc).

Would I be eligible for a tuition fee loan if I transferred? Any help would be much appreciated!

    :)

If the new course did not contain an integral foundation year, you would not be entitled.
