i have bled the radiators but it doesnt seem to have soved it (maybe a bled them wrong!)
its causing problems because it keeps waking baby up!
im sure it didnt do this last winter.
any ideas?
cheers

Mine are doing it too and its really annoying, sorry thats no help but any advice would be great!
Thank you0 -
Sounds like it could be a thermostatic radiator valve mounted the wrong way round.0

Pipework not clipped down correctly, pump setting could be to high ,on the pump it has settings 1,2,3,just click down on the one it is on now.Put a lubricant and inhibitor into the header tank, that is the small tank,DO not put it into the domestic water tank by mistake. also turn your thermostat on your boiler down. But this one sounds like the pump, which is either to high or on its way out.It could be air,but it will not be in the radiator it will be in the pipes and that takes a lot of bleeding. To be happy you need to make someone happy.0

Could also be a faulty or stuck Bi directional TRV.0 -
Many thermostatic valves (certainly older ones) are designed to work in only one direction of flow. However, it's often difficult to determine what the flow direction is. If they are the wrong way round then when they start to open or close the pump pressure starts fighting with the springs in the valves.
You can normally confirm this by playing with the valve when you hear the banging.0 -

its not the clanking of the pipes not clipped down so we can rule that out.
now i dont know about the pump , it is a combi boiler and i dont see and i dont see any settings for pump. i will lower the temp on thermostat and see what happens and i will report back.

but thanks
It's easy enough to check. Just have a play with the valves when you hear the banging.0 -

Find the pump and lower it ,resistance against the pressure causes vibrationTo be happy you need to make someone happy.0 -
