Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Tuesday 19th May. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem.

Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning. Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!

Morning. Raining here and cold again. Garden seems to be struggling and needs some sun.

Got the car back all working, so happy about that and the bill was a little less than expected, so I have cash notes in my wallet for a change. They are burning a hole and may have to be spent!

Late last night because of a little overtime. Late again tonight due to a meeting at school, so all go.

Not much else to report really, all normal and quiet here........ Have a nice day everyone

    Morning Guys!

N9eav-You've just made me realise that our car is due its 1st MOT in July:rolleyes:

Had a rough night and didnt settle well, so been up since 4.30:eek:

WM is just about to go on with a hot white wash and DW was emptied etc last night. House clean and tidy (ish) and toilet scrubbed:p

Have a list of jobs that need doing today...mostly making calls, paying bills and chasing up on a couple of things. Dinner tonight is Shepherds Pie & Veg, so nice and easy. OH is going to collect the dry-cleaning after he has taken DD to school at 7.30, then the car needs a hoover and a few things ironed.

DD is sticking to a strict revision rota that she has made up. She has exams after the holidays next week. They meet with their invigilators (sp) this FRiday and told where they have to sit etc.

Anyway, I really need a hot cuppa and toast.

    HUgs to all.

    Morning all.
N9eav - I know what you mean about money burning a hole in your wallet. But what I have found is when I have some legitimate money (as in birthday gift not stuff that hasn't been "laundered" ;) ) I can't find a single thing I like. But when I am not supposed to spend there are oooodles of things I could buy. Not fair <stamps foot>

Anyway moving swiftly on. Just done about 20 mins of Yoga on the Wii fit. Boy am I stiff in the morning. My back is playing up again so I need to make the effort to fit in some exercise, even if it's just yoga.
Going to put a chicken curry in the SC for tea tonight so going to start chopping onions in a mo. Hope they don't make me cry!!!
Most of my washing up to date (typical at its really bright here at the moment). Was quite productive in my chores yesterday so have the following to tackle:
    Vac downstairs
    Vac stairs, landing and bedrooms
    Dust DD bedroom
Scrub dirty marks on landing carpet. I SWEAR I have no idea how they get there grrrrrrr. No outdoor shoes are allowed upstairs.
Anyway off to put the curry on.
Have a good day everyone, OS or not!

    Morning all,

Beautiful day here, not sure i have enough for a wash, but will have a rummage round.

Lamb chops for tea, sainsbugs value ones, not sure if they are any good, but worth a try, with mash and veg which I cooked yesterday, I think I will steam it for a minite to heat it up.

General quick tidy up this mornng, and the grass needs cutting, and a general tidy of the garden.

Might make some cakes if have time.
I have saved some of the pips form the cherries we have been eating, going to dry them out and try and grow a tree :D, not sure it will work, but worth a try.

OK have good days all, hugs where needed xx

    Good morning!

Nothing but grey cloud here. Veg plot looking sad but tomatoes in conservatory are thriving.

Not too much OS yesterday, did some cleaning using e-cloths and water, and supper was Spanish omelette using up leftovers in the fridge - peppers, bacon, mushrooms.
Today's dinner will be chicken casserole which I can leave in the SC for OH as I'm working a late shift.

Phoned DD1 last night. She has her first exam today but seemed very calm about it. I don't think I'll be seeing much of her over the summer as she has 2 placements and then gets the keys to their next house for her final year at uni. At least she's not too far away so we can meet up for lunch sometimes.

Pen Pin - sorry to hear you had a bad night
Hope everyone's day goes well, ((((hugs)))) to those who need one.

    Hi there

Well still good weather for the ducks here and supposed to stay like it. Could do with a break just to do the nursery run and get the kids to school.

Interviews at work today for a new member of the team. Fingers crossed for a fantastic new team member.

Loads of washing to do tonight as off to the Jim CLark Rally this weekend and kids are off to their dads.

Tea will probably be baked potatoes or have found some salmon that needs used for the kids.

Hopefully some nicer weather this weekend.
Although I get lonely  as a single mother there are always two smiling angels ready to give me the biggest hug in the world. Love you babies :grouphug:

Morning everyone - well, can safely say that the sun is shining in the North West of Scotland and it's not a bad day :)

I've got a load of whites on the line already so they should be dry fairly quickly.

We got our cavity wall insulation done yesterday and were convinced that it was warmer downstairs than it had been in a long time. The next gale that comes our way will be the test! Also discovered though that we have no insulation in the eaves of the house - so that's maybe the next thing to think about.

DH went off with some pasta salad in his lunch box for today, so no guessing what we had for tea last night. Think it'll be quiche and salad today, something quick as I've got to get my mum back on line after a weekend of PC problems. DH visited yesterday so that he could sort out their Sky box as all they had was a pink screen! There's nothing else for it when BBC Alba is not available on Freeview (Sky 168!).

Halight - lovely to see you back posting and great to hear about the twins.

Pen-pin - take it easy today

Good luck to all those households with DDs & DSs sitting exams, it's a stressful time for all.

Have a good day everyone, I'm heading off to take the dog for a walk now before heading into work nice and early :)
