NAR, more food stalls def please!!:D We spent a long time queuing for food and drinks but on the upside we got the most delicious chicken kebabs I have ever tasted.....do you know where they were from by any chance??:o

Def was one of the best events like this that I've ever been to, so congrats to all who organised it.

NAR, I had to work that day, but my missus, and 2 families we're close with all went said it was great BUT they all felt it was very expensive, like they were constantly putting their hands in their pockets, they may have preferred to pay a fee in and pay for food on top rather than a £1 for each of the bouncy castles etc......not criticising just feeding back what each of them told me, all said it was a great event though.......

My husband took our biggest two and they had a great day out, but would agree that it was a bit pricey.

Could've been a fabulous day only for the weather, hour long queues for food & generally not enough staff to cope with demand. That said don't forget the main focus ... Kids charities
Maybe more staff could've generated more income ?

As for being a bit pricey, £2 for exactly 2mins on a kids merry-go-round. A bit steep even with the free lolly pop.

Still had a good day & my wee girl really enjoyed the mini golf.

Big applause to all those involved, well done.

Ok folks update as promised. I spoke with the main organiser on Friday for more than 20 minutes and raised some of your concerns.
First the really good news - the event will happen again on May Bank Holiday 2010.
He accepts there were insufficient food outlets and will ensure that this will be rectified for next year.
As regards prices they were largely outside his control. The "rides" are all private operaters who gave 20% approx of their take to the charity.
All car park monies went straight to the charity pot.
Next year will be bigger and better, as all this years contributors are already signed up for next year and the organiser has already ideas to fill the empty grass areas on the golden mile.
The amount collected is at least £20k and there will be about three televised one minute slots during the Children in Need programme this Autumn. So hopefully some of you will be on TV!
He asked me to thank you one and all for your useful feedback and especially for your support and he was glad to hear so many positive comments..

Thats a great amount raised! Glad he was able to take on board the comments made and even better its back next year! Hopefully the weather will be better for it since we didn't even get up to the other things at the very top!!

I was wondering aswell did they have a 'formal' area where the picnic was to take place or was it just because everyone was there? Thought it might be nice if there was some sort of area that could have rug/plastic area for everyone to sit at together?? (maybe I missed something)

I'm now scared re the TV....I took the kids over to see Pudsy and noticed cameras filming but didn't think it was actually for TV.....please God I'm not on since I was like a drowned rat!!

He was in Parliament Buildings and every now and again took a tour round on the back of the American style jeep.

This is back again this Monday.

I can't find any information if it is free entry or not.
Hope the weather is kinder this year.
