Buyer paying by PO but £1 under!!

Hi, I recently sold an item, the buyer wanted to pay by postal order.
Fine, I thought.
After it was posted they sent me a message through ebya to say that they had posted the postal order but hadn't paid the full amount as the postal order cost money and so did the stamp! I did wonder if they were having a joke! But no!
I don't know what to say?? Anyway said postal order arrived £1 under the total price.
Do I post the item or what is your advice? Can I contact ebay to get my fees reclaimed as the selling price is less?
Obviously I'm a bit annoyed as I'm now going to be out of pocket and if they buyer wasn't happy paying the total price then they should never have bid.
TIA

Cheeky sod!
You can either (a) send them the item anyway, (b) try and get them to pay the missing quid and obviously don't send the item till they do, (c) return the payment to them and follow the non-paying buyer procedure (whatever it is these days) to recover your fees.0 -
I'd do C to be honest, cheeky swines!!!!
With a note explaining that it is up to them to pay any charges incurred for their payment choice.
I can't believe some people!!2 angels in heaven :A0 -
I'd ask for the difference and say that if they do not want to pay it then they can send you a stamped address envelope and you will return their PO . If they choose that option, send the PO back and open an NPB.
If people don't want to pay the costs of a PO then they shouldn't use it, that is beyond cheeky.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I agree it is very cheeky however I would think about how much hassle it is going to cause and whether if the paypal fees would be more than £1? Although I totally agree they are out of order I would take into consideration having to send the PO back, relisting, chance of getting a negative etc etc.
Sometimes I just can't understand what people are thinking when they do things, I would never refuse to pay the full amount just coz of the pric of a stamp or whatever!![STRIKE]CC1: £354.35 / £354.35[/STRIKE]
CC2: £390 / £1475.98
Boiler: £1500 / £2500
[STRIKE]Overdraft: £1000 / £1000[/STRIKE]
Emergency Fund : £200 -
Lets hope they aren't nasty and leave you a neg for it!I Hate Jobsworths!!!0

I think if it were me then they might just find that £1 worth of postage must have come unstuck in the post!! cheeky so and so's.0

Tell them you will send the item on payment of the balance. If not, destroy the postal order and they can use the stub to get a refund at the post office after a certain time, then file a non-paying bidder report. They must be completely out of their minds if they think what they did was in any way acceptable.
EDIT: can you post (I know you may not want to for your own privacy) or pm me the buyer ID so I can block them from bidding please?0
