Trying to cancel 3 contract- Any advice?
Options
Hi, I am really fed up with 3 mobile and want to cancel my contract. I have been with them last 3 years and recenlty signed up with them for another 18month contract in jan 09. The mobile handset they have given me is rubbish and is clearly faulty. The battery lasts about 20 minutes max and has various other issues eg: not turning on.
I have spoken with 3 numerous times asking them to sort out the phone and basically they have been fobbing me off. I have decided to cancel my contract and cancel my DD. Can anybody suggest the correct format of my email to them stating that due to what i feel is a breach of contract from their side, ie not providing me with a phone that works, i have decidedf to cancel my contract and also to whom i email it to?
Thanks

They have not breached the contract - you can send the phone in for repair?
Otherwise its the termination fee which you will owe them - which is just your remaining line rental to end of contract.0 -
I got a text through today saying I could cancel my 3 contract because they ended '3 at home' so you may be able to use this to end the contract too.0

Surely YOU chose the phone. Get it repaired free of charge.0 -

So they sent me a text telling me I can cancel as part of a wind-up?
It has not been sent to all customers. You don't know whether the OP has received it or not, as a guess I would say not or they would have mentioned it. If I roll my eyes will I be as clever and wise as you?0 -

As for whether you will be as clever, I have no idea, I get the opinion you'll still be as much of a smart !!!! either way.0 -
Did you see the part in my post where I used the word 'may' as it was quite intentional that I used it.

If I was going to be a smartasre, I would point out that what you actually implied was that the OP might be able to cancel because you received a text about 3 Like Home being withdrawn.
Your response to dreamypuma was uncalled for, they were offering advice to the OP.0 -
So was I.
Reading the 'main thread' on the '3 like home' issue there have been people (Or a person) who didnt receive the text but were able to cancel.0 -

One person who didn't receive the text but had actually taken advantage of 3 Like Home in the last 12 months.
OP - have you used 3 Like Home in the past year or so?0
