If on the other hand you copied it and uploaded it via ebay - they must actively monitor ebay auctions.
what about if you save the picture on to your computer but change the file name? i use ebay picture manager (which uses html/img)0 -
We had a PS One for sale (that happened to be Mod Chipped); it sold, we got paid, we sent it and then ebay pulled it and refunded us all the fees! :T
We also had a JML Invisible Bra pulled because some fruitloop in the US reported us for infringing copyright (these things are for sale all over the country at nationwide stores!). JML denied any infringement on their part so a relist on a one day auction put paid to the fruitloop.
It is an interesting one for the use of pictures, Monsoon have your money and you are selling the product on; it's not like you're making a killing selling fake gear (which they can easily check). Seems rather picky, I'd consider avoiding them in future and letting them know so, but then I hold grudges!

I think Monsoons department for using things like that is very quick especially since all the problems they had with another highstreet producing very similar attire to that they sold in their store

yip, this is what i did- resized it as well, but they found it all the same. Well, I'll know for the next time. At at least it wasn't pulled during the auction. My brother was buying NWT jeans a few weeks ago (I can't remember which brand) and the same thing happened to his seller. Like mine, the listing was pulled just after the auction had ended and he'd paid by paypal, so sale was completed ok.Stuart_P wrote:what about if you save the picture on to your computer but change the file name?I might be broke but happy but I'd happily not be broke!0 -

A lot of companies, especially American ones, now emply companies for the sole purpose of protecting their intelectual property. eBay is an easy target for those companies.0 -
If they are working for a company all they have to do is look for listings that reference their name and then trawl through them to see what's what. Simple - they work like we do, but we are buying and they are reporting bad usage!! I agree nightswimmer, it's big business isn't it, espcially for counterfeit or stolen items as in they can find counterfeit or stolen items of the companies and have the listisngs pulled or proceed to the end and buy the item, I don't how true it was of Tesco's buying some of their vouchers or or something back to see who was selling them??!!!0

I had a feeling the picture was from the Monsoon website before I'd even opened this thread. You see it happened to me this week (jumper from Monsoon given to me as a gift) and it's happened to everybody using their pics - go look now and you won't see any Monsoon website pictures.
I think Monsoon is trying to find out how sellers are getting hold of current season stuff, especially the regular ones. I think they are definetly watching and trying to work out where it's all coming from.0 -
Hiya I work for a trademark firm and we do ebay watching services for some of our clients. Intellectual property theft is common on ebay. I bet you could find intellectual property infringements on every add on ebay if you looked.. big companies are mean and pedantic usually !I love this site :beer:0
