How long is a piece of string? It depends on what sort of restaurants you frequent and how much you drink etc. There are usually 3 or 4 of us and we take £1000 thats for two weeks. HTH's

I would want to take £500 / E500, plus at least 2 different cards for emergencies.

I went a month ago - you can get a half decent meal in a restaurant for a tenner and beer in normal bars is between €2 and €4

Given the state of the pound, think about how often you are likely to eat out compared to eating in apartment, then forget that as most of us think we'll eat in one night and out the next but once your on holiday it tends to be every night. So if you eat out in the UK how much do you spend? Use that as a basis e.g. If you spend £30 for the two of you to go out for an evening in the UK multiply that by 7 (£210) and add on what you'll spend during the rest of the day on drinks/snacks etc. OH just came back from a week BB in Spain and spend about £400 (very little drinking) or put it another way £50 a day, 2 people, 7 days, £50/day = £700.

I agree with Spiro - The way I do it too :o

If you can't save enough as you think you may need . How about trying to take it easy the first couple of nights till you get your bearings , and do everything slowly , maybe catch up on sleep.

And you could always pack some bits of food in your luggage {check first what you can fly with } mainly packet food . This would save you some money on snacks like crisps during the day or a couple of meals when you first get there
