    Very true tbag :).

I have dd's set up for most of my accounts to clear minimum payments. Planning to have everything paid by dd soon, but i make the effort to try and pay of a little something each day to all my debts (if possible). It might be as little as 50p just as long as i pay something.

My mindset it that every penny counts and i know i'm doing the right thing long-term.

When i've made those interim payments, i feel so good about myself, sounds silly but it's true :D. I'll have those debts cleared in full by this time next year or die trying! :rotfl:

Anyway, good luck with your new job :T.

It is a shame than many others do not share your positive outlook and try following your methods instead of looking down the "rip off the banks" route; I have the greatest amount of respect for you and the courage you clearly have, good luck. ;)
    thankyou very much.

Cheers bigbum too for the "paying something off each day" it all does add up indeed and along with the direct debits every penny counts. Like i said i know i was silly but no point in kicking myself, we all make mistakes and i could if i wanted to, pay this off for rest of my life, but i dont want to have this hanging over my head and want to look forward to a life being debt free and enjoying my money, not giving it to some bank or catalogue. We all have debt but some of us choose to ignore it and pretend its not there. That is the worse thing to do. I know its only a few grand but even the people who are in 3 times as much as me just budget, think positive and always make a payment. whether its £10 or £100 just keep on top of things because they can spiral out of control very easily and very quickly. Also think about the consequences of spending on the card or taking cash out, think "do i really need this" because its good and exciting in the short term but not in the long term. And if you can, even if it makes you skint, try and pay more off than you should because although scary and skint you will be now, in 1,2 or 3 years time you will be so grateful that you did do something about it.
