I'm sure that some of the people over at www.aronline.co.uk or www.rover200.org.uk would be interested in the parts (or even the whole car)
Good Luck0 -
I believe that cars are quite expensive to sell on ebay.
Make sure you aren't stuck with it after the MOT/Tax has run out.
You might then find you can't drive it to a scrapyard if it doesn't sell.
I might need to get rid of mine and tax/MOT runs out very quickly, so I want to be in a position to drive it legally.
You will probably get more for it if you drive it there rather than have it collected.
Of course you should remove the tax disc and get a redund.
Given that the head gasket has gone, it might be a bit hard to do even before the MOT runs out!:DNorthern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -

About 15 years ago I bought a 1978 Triumph Dolomite Sprint from a local scrappy.
I broke it, removing wheels (minilites) and tyres, all the glass, radiator, cylinder head, carbs, alternator, starter, front wing (almost new and then unobtainable), chrome, lights, badges, gearbox and overdrive, differential, steering wheel, petrol tank, complete dashboard (sold to a concours owner as a spare) and a few other bits.
All in I made about £500 from it but did have to cut the shell up and transport it to the local tip.0 -
As a massive rover fan (800, 827, sd1, range) who has partially stripped parts before for ebay (and also tried to sell on to "enthusiasts") for the hassle free solution, phone the scrap man.
Enthusiasts were offering buttons or wanted to cherry pick the hard to find stuff.
Do a search on ebay for rover 200. Anything getting money, remove and list. Between the rover and your car, keep the best tyres but leave the rover a rolling shell then get it uplifted.
The cat has to be the original one to be recyclable.0 -

I took all my stuff to an international Triumph club meeting so enthusiasts and trade buyers were all to hand.0 -

Just make the auction for a 5 pence lightbulb from the car. Make it clear that anyone can turn up, pull whatever they like from it, and pay you for that. They have to remove the bits their self.
Depending on where you are, that vehicle could very well be in tatters within a fortnight. Then all you'd have to do is flog the chassis for scrap metal.
Technically, that is illegal. You need to be licensed or exempted in order to carry out car breaking for business purposes.0 -
