Help problem with jaguar X Type
Comments
-
I've had my Jaguar X Type from new over 15 months now, and whenever I drive at high speed over 90 miles per hour ( i know the legal limit is 70, but I do travel to Europe on the autobans) anyway most times I get a very loud noise sounds like wind from a seal somehwere...the car has been back to the grage where I bought it 5 times now & back to the Jaguar factor, but the noise still happends...I stopped my monthly payments and that affected my credit ratings so started them back up, but I'm getting no where any advide on what I can do please...jag just keep fobbing me off saying speed limit is 70!!! thanks for any help.
Dealer : "sorry, cant find a fault"
O/P : "well thats it, i'm going to stop my repayments to the finance company"
Dealer : "Ummm... ok, close the door on your way out"
Was it not a warning sign when you threatened to stop the finance payments and the dealer didnt seem to care?
He's already got your money, why did you think that was a good idea?0 -
They are right in saying that the speed limit IS 70. And they won't want to risk the license of their staff by driving it at 90 to find the noise.
Maybe next time you're over the other side of the Channel maybe you call into a Jag dealer over there who will be more willing to drive at 90 odd to find the noise...?0 -
The reason I stopped the payments was I didn't think I was getting any help, once I stopped the payments at least I got some dialect going and they said they now had a new seal which would stop the noise, so I went ahead booked the car in yet again (5th or 6th time) but it still hasn't made any difference.
I also E-mailed the CEO of Jaguar and then got his PA to try and help but they all point me to the same team who are now stalling...waiting yet again on my calls to be returned from:-
1) the Garage where I bought the car, the manager said he would have to speak to Jaguar as they have been so involved
2) manager of customer services at Jag finance, as the car is purchased from them
3) The PA to the CEO..
Still waiting......and on my first note I think I said the car was bought in Dec 2007...but it was Dec 2006....so this has been going on for over 2 years now!!!!!!
Help please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks

Are you sure it's not just the noise of the air flow across the grille and up the windscreen? I wouldn't expect travelling at 90mph to be silent in any car. If changing a seal hasn't reduced the noise, changing it again won't help.0

Change the car problem solved0

As above hit Jag direct at head office, best way.
Also have you spoken to the finance company, they own the car. Tell them the situation and see if they can also be of help.
Just stopping the payments without the above was useless, my opologies if you did ask them for help.
Hope you get this matter sorted, been through stupid dealer talks with my car. After sales is a pain with warranty claims.0 -
just another trick to try next time you get the noise try pressing the powerfold mirrors button and making the mirrors fold inwards and see if the noise stops thenHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Unfortunately it's only the floorpan that is the same - and there arn't many seals on that that would produce the wind noise the OP suggests
As for build quality, well it's made in the same factory and using many of the former workers of where the Ford Escort was built."Now to trolling as a concept. ....
