o2 PAYGO porting help
Options
Want to port my dad’s O2 PATGO mobile to Asda mobile.
However as he only uses his phone occasionally O2 wont give him his code as he cant remember when he last topped up his balance and how, and he though he was on original tariff but they said he is not.
Sim card is about 3 years in use. Is there any way we can find out what tariff he is on or another way he can port but keep the same number?
He does not get free texts/calls or use any bolt ons.

Dont understand why o2 need to know when he topped up his balance.
You could try to register with o2 online, it usually tells you what tariff your phone is on or just top the phone up - but gonna cost you I guess £10 as a minimum.0 -

thanks will try the register online if i can find the link.
O2 suggest i top up again for him...but that defeats the purpose as he wants to move to Asda mobile who are far cheaper for his needs but woudl like to keep same number if possible0 -

The only reason they'd ask for topup info would be if he couldn't remember his security details to allow them to access the account. Under the data protection act they must verify that the person on the other end of the line is the acc holder...0

When I did this last year O2 asked me for the serial number from the sim card because I could not remember ether as it had been so long. They gave me the PAC code when I gave then the number from the sim card. Try phoning them back and suggesting that you know someone else that has done it this way.0

only securty info asked was name and tel number...its a PAYGo mobile
It's still an account and as far as the DPA is concerned it still has to be checked to ensure that no third party's access it.
There should be a password and a 4 digit security code on it. If the customer can't remember what they are the CS agent has to a security check to make sure the owner is the person calling in...0 -
managed to register online will call them later this week again for the PAC code. BTW i did offer to give teh chap the SIM card number when i phoned - he said no good i need to answer 1 of 2 questions:
1. when was card last topped up, how much and method?
2. What tariff is the card on!.0 -
Sounds like no one's ever contacted Orange about this account before, so there are no security info setup. In that case they have to confirm that it's the real owner of the acc on the phone (to cover them on the DPA). The questions they've asked are to ensure they give the acc info to the right person.0
