o2, £5 a month - help please!!

My contract expired in Feb this year, and I had a phonecall from o2 offering me an 18 month contract, with redemptions available at 6, 12 and 18 months, with a cheque for £50 within the 1st 30 days. This equated to about £5 a month overall.
Well, today I thought I would go to the o2 shop and find out what was happening, as I am in month 5 and no cheque. They said I did not have an existing contract with them. I went to Carphone Warehouse, and I am not with them:confused:
I rang o2 and they said as far as they were concerned I am just paying £35 a month, on no redemption deals etc...

I am positive I saw the offer on this forum, but have done a search and can't find anything now!!

Please help me.....

Who did you sign up with - o2?
Or was it an intermediate company?
Redemptions usually work with you having to send your bill to someone once every 6, 9 months etc or whatever bill number they want you to send in.

PS Why did you go to carphone warehouse - was that where your previous contract was?
It sounds like that you upgraded with o2 direct and there will be no redemption offers with direct upgrades through the network provider.

And who actually phoned you up to offer that deal - it doesn't sound like it could have been o2 for the reason above.

Thats the werid thing, they said they were o2?!?!
I did previously have a redemption contract with the carphone warehouse, which went smoothly...
And it wasn't an upgrade, it was exactly what I had previously....argghhhh

Sounds like a dodgy salesman call o.O
Do you get any sort of bills? like e-mail or post?
Maybe you can work out who you actually signed up with.

Are your bills still from CPW? If so it's likely you've upgraded with them.

Call the customer services number on the phone and ask who (ie which company) arranged your upgrade.

I have 2 O2 contracts, one with o2 and one with CPW billing.

For the first I arranged the upgrade with O2 directly, although e2save did try and offer me a cashback deal.

For the second CPW offered me £5 line rental but this was a direct discount, ie without any cashback/claims etc, I just get a credit on my bill every month. The bills still come from CPW though.

It might be worth also getting in touch with o2 complaints in writing (giving all details of events as they happened) - to highlight the fact that you have been mis-sold one of their products.

And also ofcom and consumer direct. Worth making a fuss.

My bills are from o2, as they were when I was with the carphone warehouse...guess I best get shopping around!!!!
Literally, nothing changed, apart from they got my old address for the 1st bill on the 'new' contract. I rang o2 and they changed it

o2 don't offer redemption deals. Could it not have been e2save?

:o:o:o, sorry everyone, above poster correct. Managed to find all my original paperwork and it was with e2save. I can't confirm I am currently with them as Customer Service closed. It is still strange as they said to go to the o2 store 6/12/18 months to claim my cashback.
Will let you know tomorrow when I get to speak to someone

    Thank you all

All fishy - you dont go to a store to collect cashback - you send in your bills on specific months to someone (assume its e2save).

You might try going to https://www.e2save.co.uk and register and if their site recogonizes your mobile number you will get registered and possibly see what the deal is.
