ok, hopefully i have this correct. Sky are offering a free Sky+ box for a few weeks, but there is an installation cost of £30, but you have to subscribe to one of their variety packs for £16.50.
Right, if you go for the HD box instead you get that for £49, plus FREE installation. thats £19 more expensive for this box, but you have to pay and extra £9 per month for the HD facility.
Heres my question.
if i do not pay the extra £9 for the HD facility (which i do not want) can i still receive any of the BBC HD channels, or the non Sky HD channels.
I have a HD ready Tv but i do not want to pay for the HD facility with Sky TV.
If i still can recieve BBC or any of the other non sky tv channels such at Channel 4 etc I think i will go for this option rather than the £30 intallation option for Sky+

All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.

If you want HD programmes you need either the Sky box with the subscription or you can go down the Freesat route.
I noticed this offer today of a receiver for HD on Freesat for only £89

Part of the contract if you get the Sky HD box is that you sign up for a year, which means you have to pay the HD subscription for 12 months.
As bob says, the other option is to go the Freesat HD route. You'll get BBC and ITV HD.Dave. :wave:0 -
Bottom line is that you will not get the SkyHD box for £49 if you dont take the HD Pack for 12 months.
If it is Sky you want (and not freesat), it looks like the plus box is best for you.
Personally if you have a HD TV and can afford the extra cost per month go for the HD box, you wont regret it.0 -
