I went to Cyprus the other year for the first time. I prebooked with holidays autos or similar. They just act as a clearing house for other companies. My voucher was with National car hire. They were rubbish. The car wasnt the best and they fleeced me for a full tank of petrol on collection instead of the usual arrangement of return car with same amount as collected. Avoid.0 -
Whenever I have looked for friends 7 seaters come up expensive in any country. Low demand means low stock which means high prices.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Try www.carrentalcyprus.co.uk - I spent the last few weeks looking into to getting a 7 seater and this was the cheapest for me (off on weds:j) Zafira was 560€ or a slightly bigger Serena or Noa at 650€ for 2 weeks... These prices were AI with a baby seat

I was just about to suggest the same company as Leigh-Anne, Houlos Rent a Car, link to website below.

They were recommended to me via Tripadvisor Cyprus forum. If you do a search there, you will find several satisfied customers. They offer quite a personal service and a minimum of red-tape, when I hired from them in 2007. They have been reported as offering very good value for money and decent, reliable vehicles . Communications by email were answered promptly.
If you do make enquiries with them, perhaps you could leave some feedback here, as I do recommend them although my experience with them is a couple of years out of date now!0 -
When I hire cars in Cyprus I get a list of local firms from google then email the same email to all of them - with my dates and requirements.
I specifically tell them I want excess free insurance and no hidden extras. Get this in writing and take their confirmation emails with you.
Plus no charge for paying by credit card - and tell them you will return the car full of petrol as you collected it.
Also ask them how old the car is.
It varies from year to year and month to month who is cheaper - so I will not recommend anyone specifically BUT it is best to deal with the smaller firms and not one that the process starts over here in UK.
On the whole most of the firms are OK and you should not have any problems
Have a lovely holiday.....0 -
