Paid with a debit card - payment not taken?

I bought a ticket for OH for a festival last Monday/Tuesday from a music store, used the debit card, entered pin etc etc. Checked the online banking and it's still not been taken, it's not even pending!
Is that normal? Whenever we have paid with the card before (very often) it always pends from the available balance straight away.
Just don't want to find in 12months time they have went for the money!

I bought a coat online with my debit card. Received the coat, then 3 days later the money came out my account. This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.0

You have spent the money. They will take it. You must keep a balance to cover it until they do.
Think of it like a cheque, it can take a long time to be cashed but it remains your liability.0 -
IIRC it can be a long time, like 30 days or so in which time they can take the charge when they get around to it.14/12/2009 - Official Debt Free Day

"What the hell is that?" "I don't know, but if cats could sing... they'd hate it too"

Thanks folks.
The money will be in the bank to cover it, just will be a pain if I have to keep it aside for the next 6 months or however long they can go for it.0 -

the transaction will only be "pending" for 3 days
(note i mean pending in the sense of it being deducted from your available balance)IIRC it can be a long time, like 30 days or so in which time they can take the charge when they get around to it.
unless it changed recently its 6 months0 -
Yes but the available balance and account balance is exactly the same, and nothing has been debited.
I did suspect it was something like 6months, It's not a huge problem, I just hope I don't forget!
This is the first time anything we have bought has not been taken off straight away. Very odd.0 -
it might be now but probably wasnt last week
eg if the purchase was on monday it would be pending until thursday0 -
Nope, just checked the online account and everything is still the same. Knowing my luck it will debit one month when the washing machine has broken or the boiler has blew up0
