i've just spoken to them s they suggested a loan initially which is not for me as it won't take me that long to get myself back on track. I have actually freed up £400 in next months salary sue to overtime.

As long as I have no more outgoings between now and friday they will just charge me the £25 and not bounce the cheque but will not refund me the £100 of charges from last month which quite francky made the situation worse. I should get through next month ok now. £100 in just a matter of a week is just a ridiculas sum of money. If your already over how can they possibly expect you to pull it back like that!

I would not asume a loan is not for you. The interest you would pay with a loan will be for sure cheaper than all those charges you are having. I would opt for a loan, consolidate as much as I can, transfer cards to 0% balance cards (and DO NOT SPEND on them!!!), then I would save to pay off the loan earlier. If while saving you have an emergency or your salary does not cover anything, you can always use the savings. Ask at least for a quote and see if it can help you.

Charges put your credit down, they escalate really quickly: one charge makes you go overdrawn = another charge; charge bounces cheque = second charge, charge bounces direct debit or standing order = 3rd charge... and the following month you get more charges for being overdrawn the previous month. Plus any late payment you incur, plus having to arrange the payments when you have no cash in your account. Honestly, charges are like a snowball, they just roll up to the following month and get bigger. You need to sort it out.
