Evening all... Hope you are all ok. Its the weekend at last!!!

Quillion - Today's list all done :j (although I have to say that I did a lot of the list earlier in the week) Please could I have a star when you have a minute. Thank you & thanks for stepping in to do the stars this week x

Dad's operation went as planned yesterday. They wanted to remove the kidney by key-hole surgery, but in the end they had to use a robotic arm, which meant that the surgery was more intrusive than hoped. The tumor that was sitting on the kidney was 3kg (I suppose that is like 3 bags of sugar - which is pretty big). Dad is in intensive care at the moment, although they have had him awake and talking today, which is good. The surgeon told Mum and Dad today, they they had to do liposuction during the op, to be able to get the tumor out successfully (I'm really sorry if you are about to have dinner; this is the last thing you want to hear!) Apparently Dad is delighted and can't wait to get on the scales to see how much he has lost! :rotfl: Mum said that they are working on him all the time in ICU, so he is pretty tired. The main thing is that he got through the op, and the other kidney has taken over all the work. The bad news is, that they have found out the cancer in the lungs has spread. They have not told Dad as it is the last thing he needs to hear at the moment. It is wierd because we were so happy that the surgery went well, only to be told about the lungs, and finding out it is more widespread than originally thought; such a mixture of emotions but we need to stay strong for Dad's sake.

I am going to have a quiet evening with dh. We are having a takeaway, so no cooking tonight :j I have had really bad morning sickness the past few days, and I just feel exhausted after this week, so a relaxing evening suits me down to the ground. Off out tomorrow to have a look at some maternity clothes, as I now have a bit of a bump and all my clothes are starting to feel a bit tight! It is all very exciting, and it won't be long until I will start to feel baby move!!

Glamazon Welcome! :hello: It is really nice to have you join us!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend, whatever you are doing. Have a safe journey to those going away. Lots of love and :grouphug: Abbie x

    Evening All

I've had a horrible day. My DD1 was assaulted yesterday after school. Not really badly, but she was pushed by a gang of lads and racially abused. She gave as good as she got, and slapped the boy that pushed her.
    Consequently I've spent the day
    1) talking to the other girls' parents x 2
    2) at school with their head of year
    3) at the police station x 2 trips.

The police officer we saw was fantastic. He was really impressed by my girl. I'm so proud of her, she was really honest and clear. She came over really well. They've taken it all very seriously. She said that she just thought that the lads should be warned against that kind of behaviour. They're sending a liaison officer out to the school concerned, because she doesn't know these boys, so they're not going to persue them individually.... particularly as she said that she wasn't sure about the racism, it was her friends that told her the boys had been calling them the 'n' word. She said she was so angry that she didn't hear anything, she just remembers the rage she was feeling!

I'm so angry and upset, I could rip them apart the little sh*ts.

Anyway. I'm exhausted now, and cannot believe that we're all going to drive down to Plymouth now!! I'm sure I'll be really pleased I've done it when I'm walking along a beach tomorrow morning!

Hugs to those that need them.
    SS
    xx

ETA: Toots I was at the police station when you text, so sorry for short response. :)

Abbie - postive vibes sent for your Dad. I do hope he recovers speedily and well. Re: morning sickness I was terribly ill with my pregnancies. I found that eating little and often really helped, and I kept gingernut biscuits next to the bed, and nibbled them before I even sat up. HTH :)

SarahShattered, well done on your DD not getting defeated by the bullies, what a brave girl you have. I'm glad the police have taken the matter seriously and will deal with the boys. Ignorant idiots.

SS have a lovely break and give dd a big hug from me. I know i should not say this but i am glad your daughter slapped one of them.

Tyrants everywhere are really just pathetic scared people and all it takes is one person to fight back. They are scared that that one person will bring hem down. Her actions may make a difference.

If everyone was blind we would have no problem with racial discrimination we all bleed red blood breathe the same air why oh why do we name call for differences in skin colour clothing religion etc etc. Sorry makes me mad.

On a funny note we had a cat called !!!!!! when we were young (30+years ago)and our neighbours who were african had one called paleface. We were all great friends but visitors to both houses did a doubletake when we shouted out cats in !!!!
