Totally fed up with T-Mobile - what are O2 like?

Sorry about the length of this post. Totally fed up with T-Mobile who I have been happy with for the last 3 years.
My two sons (12 and 16) both have PAYG T-Mobile accounts in my name. Both accounts have been happily associated with my debit card for a number of years and when either needs topping up, I call the automated service on 150 and credit their account.
First gripe. My old debit card expires this month, so I have a new one (completley different number etc). I tried to register the new card via the 150 service. It failed to register, so I ended up having to speak to customer services and get them to register the new card. No problem.
So at this stage son 1 is registered against new card, son 2 against old card.
I got a new T-Mobile PAYG sim for myself to use as a second phone number from my regular contract phone.
Called customer service to register the new PAYG account against new debit card. They told me they couldn't do this as policy dictated I had too many accounts registered against my card - they couldn't tell me what too many meant. All they could say was 'go and use a top-up card in a shop'. Mighty pee'd off I was.
Today son 1 (registered against new card) needed a top up - tried 150 no joy, had to call customer services - they told me too many accounts registered against card.
As my old card was still valid (runs out at end of month) I was able to top up with that.
So, very unhappy going around in circles with customer services.
Does any one know if O2 operate this policy on PAYG? As I feel like packing up with T-Mobile - can't bear it!
Has to be O2 as they are the only other operator with a signal where I live.

I think o2 are similar and only allow 2 or 3 cards to be used at any one time on any accounts0

Yeah I think it's something that all networks have, when I was with Orange PAYG and wanted to top up with my mums card they wouldnt let me as it was registered already on other accounts.0
