Thought I would bring you all up to speed, and help save a few pounds as well.

Auto Europe seem to be connected in some way to Europcar:
    http://www.auto-europe.co.uk/
However, they appear to only do a minimum of a 3 day hire.

They instruct you to collect your car from the Europcar desk at the airport, and the vehicles offered by Auto Europe are identical to Europcar.
They are always cheaper, sometimes by quite a bit.
I saved over £23 even when booking for a 3rd day which I don't need!
Their online quote is nearly always cheaper than phonng them as well.
    Hope it helps someone.

It did for me today - thanks p4! The zero excess insurance premium was also included in the very good price.

    hi

can you tell me where details of the zero excess insurance premium are on the site please.
All I can see is the following under the heading YOUR RENTAL INCLUDES,

"* Rental includes Collision Damage coverage and Theft Protection for the vehicle. Rental limits potential vehicle damage or loss liability to an excess of approx. GBP 650."

I too was seduced by Auto Europe's great discounted rates at the beginning of April, booking a one-way hire from a Berlin Airport to a Frankfurt Airport. They seem to allocate your booking to whoever is the cheapest provider at each location. On this occasion this was with Budget. On arrival I was told they had no record of my booking from Auto Europe which meant they also didn't have the vehicle available that was booked ( a 9-seater people mover). After an hour and half Auto Europe were still claiming it was Budgets fault but re-allocated the booking to Avis who did have the correct vehicle available. Avis were considerably more expensive on excess and additional drivers so I ended up spending an extra €100 on the booking. This booking transfer only happened because the assistant with Budget was so helpful as Auto Europe clearly didn't give a damn. This may have been a one-off slip-up but suggests their system isn't reliable and their customer service questionable.

At Palma Mallorca Airport in Spain £1,120 to rent a 3 door Fiat Panda for a month (31 days) on August 1st is still significantly more expensive than the cheapest deal available through www.mycarhire.co.uk at £858 for a Smart Car or £928 for a 3 door Fiat Panda. And that also includes the first additional driver free of charge.

So the discount code still ends up with an expensive car rental price.
  • Hi,

Has anyone an up to date promo code for Europcar?
Tried the one already mentioned from 2010 but in fact it shows higher prices than on the normal website!!

I have just used the link
    http://www.multiurl.com/sa/europcar this automatically puts the
code 44091496 in and I got a BARGAIN!!!
  • Thanks for this code 'duncans mum'

I'm checking van hire and it reduced an already reasonable 3 day hire charge from about £150 down to £127 here in the UK.

I also found this code on the Europcar site 47839312, I'm not completely sure it will work as it was generated by Europcar when I looked under their 'Deals' menu, it reduces the price (to £135 in this case) and offers free del/coll of vehicle. However, read the Terms and Conditions for this, as you have to make contact with them to request it and there are a few peak exclusion dates.

There are so many voucher code sites now, but I find most of them a complete waste of time, they often don't have the codes they claim to have and are just after getting people to click links and make the sites money. This site is an all together better experience!
