Wrong registration on parking ticket

Im guessing we don't have to pay???
It was my OH's fault, he parked on double yellow lines. But they've put **** NTX when actually its NTK.
No car is registered with the number plate they've put. OH says to just ignore it cos they won't be able to trace it.
But surely if i just take it into the place in town and show them the V5 for proof that the car with that number plate isn't mine i won't have to pay it.

Aren't you lucky. Its very unlikely that you will be contacted but keep all paperwork just in case.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Extremely lucky. I rolled my eyes and sighed when my OH showed me the ticket when he got home, i wasn't impressed at all and asked where he had parked.
Was just about to go on about having to fork out £35 when he started laughing and showed me the X instead of K being put down.
Still got a lecture though about how much of an idiot he is for parking just where he felt like.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
Just hope they haven't photographed the number plate as well...0

How do they do that? (and know replies of with a camera).
I ask because they just have those what look like hand held chip/pin devices, where they punch in the info.
Where is the camera on that?Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
But it won't make any difference, they have one chance of issueing a pcn and if they get it wrong they can't reissue it.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

they usually photo the car as well. however, with the wrong number on it, every chance of it being cancelled. if it isnt, take it to tribunal. i did that over the colour of the car, and it was cancelled. you need to take the reg doc with you. to prove it.0

not quite as clear cut as it seems cos we don't know what you have. Who issued the 'ticket' and under what legislation (listed on it)?
