I like the Brussels, Venice idea!! Or Egyptian cotton, if that suited better!

Do you have a dining room table? It might sound really sad, but a table cloth/napkins might be a nice idea?

Ruth_honey I love your ideas - totally going to drop hints about that! I want my table cloth ;)

    Bed sheets.
Practical, yet they can be slightly romantic.

Thanks! I love buying presents and it's fun to work with a theme.
Wish I had a table big enough to have a table cloth. We did get bought a gorgeous quilt for our anniversary (from my mum & Grandma). It's patchwork, and looks very American. It was from the QVC outlet shop, which has some fab bargains if you can get there. Shrewsbury or Warrington are the only 2 in the country, unfortantly.

Many thanks for all the ideas. I'll certainly bookmark this page for future anniversaries (the ones that aren't strictly cotton related that is!).

    I've just ordered theDW a Snug Rug/Slanket

It's not cotton I realise, but cotton is a fabric and so is this (or at least that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it).

It's also sort of OS as it'll hopefully mean I don't need to put the heating on as much!

Thanks again for everyone's input. :)

Lovely to warm you up when its getting nippy, or snuggly in th ecold winter evenings- also realy big so completely envelope you - great for when you are feeling poorly and just want to lay on the sofa watching telly

It is fast approaching my first wedding anniversary and I would like to get my wife something made of paper, as is the tradition.

I have started to put together a book that has the details of our wedding, honeymoon, the way I proposed etc. I have 2 pages for every year that has space for a photo and a few questions that we can fill in every year and look back on as we get older and something that our (grand)children can read when we are no longer around.

The major issue I am facing is that I can't think of the right questions to put in the book. I have put the following in already -

What significant events have happened in the last year?

What hopes and dreams do you have for the future?

How have you both changed in the last year?

I don't feel these are even remotely romantic but I really want to get this right and have my wife in floods of tears when she opens it for the first time.

    Thanks in advance.
