Help, need to break Virgin mobile contract!

Options
Hi Everyone,

I have a mobile phone contract with Virgin and still 10 months left but need to finish it early as I have lost my job two months ago and decided to leave this country. The thing is I don't want to pay the cancellation fee or remaining months still in my contract.

Also I received a text message from Virgin saying:

From 15 June, if you call 08 or 09 numbers from your virgin mobile, the cost of these calls is changing. To find out more call 22525 free from your mobile now.

I am now wondering whether this is enough reason for early cancellation without penalty.

Help will be greatly appreciated!!

No its not enough of a reason to cancel, its not part of your allowance that is stated in your price plan.

I dont mean to be rude but time and time again on this forum the same questions are asked when a simple search would help people out. Im sorry you lost your job but at the end of the day everyone is suffering and we cant just all drop all the commitments we have just because things are getting a bit tough.

Best you can do is to see if you can drop to a cheaper package for the balance of the contract and sell the phone SIM-free on eBay before you go to recoup some money.
Losing your job does not get you out of the contract I'm afraid.

Well you'll have to pay the cancellation fee wont you? Thats how contracts work, You want to break them, You pay the penalty.

Hmm - and if you want credit in the future, then what?
And don't try to fly with Virgin, come to think of it will any airlines want his/her credit card in future?
