  • When I rang to enquire I too was told I either had to transfer my current account to them or open an online savings account. They never gave me the option of just putting in £100 to open the account.

    I'm slightly confused regarding the new fees. I understand that there are fees for spending on debit/credit card outside Europe but the website seems to be implying that there will also be a charge on cash withdrawals on the Flex account debit card. I thought this was going to remain free worldwide? Can anyone ease my confusion?!

    Read the section entitled "Commission-free card use abroad" on this link and this page.
    We will start to pass this fee onto you from 6 May 2009 on credit card and from 1 June 2009 on debit card and it will be included in the sterling amount shown on your statement.
